| The Boston-Threshold Group is a group of
professionals from Boston, U.S.A. and N. Ireland who
wish to promote the theory and practice of group
psychotherapy. The principals from Boston are
Patricia M. Doherty, Ed.D., Cecil A. Rice, Ph.D.,
Kathleen Ulman, Ph.D., Sara Emerson, LICSW, Jeanne
Pasternak, MSW, and David Hawkins, MD. The principals
from N. Ireland are Chris Fry, Dip.S.W., Msc., Aoine McMahon,
Dip.S.W. and the Threshold network of
clinics.
Since its inception in 1997, the Boston-Threshold Group has brought
together group therapists from Northern Ireland - from both sides of the
political divide - the United States, the Republic of Ireland and the UK for
mutual learning and professional development. It is our belief that
group therapy, support groups and community are key instruments in enabling
individuals traumatized by war to find healing. The conference contributes
to that healing.
